At Green Haven we pride ourselves in our recycling services. Per month on average we go through 15 tonne of clean concrete, 10 tonne of soil, 160 yards worth of wood, 12 Biffa bins and 10 tonne of green waste/chippings. All of our waste gets fully recycled and we purchase the majority of our materials from our recycling centres. As a company we are motivated by the idea of us preventing/limiting the use of landfills.
All the wood waste we collect is disposed of at a local licensed facility. The wood waste is shredded into a wood chip and then it is sent to our local WID compliant power plant to produce electricity.
All our green waste is turned into organic compost that is then sent out to local farmers and spread on their land to help crops grow. This also cuts back on the use of synthetic fertiliser.
All our concrete is recycled by using industrial crushing equipment with jaws and large impactors. After the concrete is broken up, it is usually run through a secondary impactor and is then screened to remove dirt and particles leaving new recycled hardcore. All our concrete recycling services are outsourced to our local aggregate recycling centre.
Our soil goes straight to our local soil recycling centre in which they take the soil and verify its origin. They then filter it through a number of systems to ensure a consistent particle size, remove all stones and greens and viable weed seeds. They then fortify the refined soil with quality compost, to ensure a great level of nutrients, PH balance and water retention. What’s left is their range of quality soils perfect for landscaping operations.
When it comes to our waste, we fully recycle all of our resources, from our unit Biffa bins to our wood pile, we do this by choosing the right company that suits our waste needs.
